Friday Fast for the month of January
Wayman is fasting on Fridays from sun up to sundown to deepen our prayer for the softening of hearts and the unity of all people. Join us in choosing something to give up on Friday's that can serve as a reminder to pray and commune with God as we pray for our world and our beloved community. Whether it is food (if health allows), tv, social media, or anything else, let it be something that feels like a sacrifice. When you feel the sting or craving, let that be your call to prayer. 

Prayer focus:
Habakuk 3:17-19
17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
    and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior. 19  The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. "Praying in the midst of hardship”

Prayer: Lord, we rejoice in the knowledge that you have and will never leave us nor forsake us. That Babylons own evil will be its downfall and will wait on you. We thank you for equipping us with the strength to endure, to tread upon dangerous heights equipped with your guidance and wisdom. Through you we can endure hardship. We pray for the continued strength and resolve to resist the temptation to give way to fear and hopelessness. replace our anxiety with steadfastness faith and joy in the lord. Amen.
